They draw near without ever arriving, grow to the exact measure of our composition, breathe into the ear, brush against the body, profane the flesh, force us into wakefulness, twist the fibres of reality. These nocturnal, clandestine, delirious shadows….

To look into the darkness in a moment of stillness triggers a frantic jolt, a compulsion of incomplete images, sudden returns, bodies without a place. There is a silent violence in the act of recognising, breaking apart, and expelling.

Yet there are things that press themselves against us with a fierce and jealous intimacy. In Ciumentamente Encostados, the photographic and photo-performance works move through a place in the dark, where everything becomes closer, denser, harder to separate from the body.
